CBC Daybreak Comes to Lacombe

Aug 10, 2017

Lacombe Days is an annual four-day festival that brings our community out to celebrate all that the City of Lacombe has to offer. Every year I coax more and more out-of-town family into joining us, until this year we had a packed house of 3 to 90 year olds.

With free breakfasts and barbeques, beer gardens, lunch box theatre, street parties, magicians, bouncy castles, barn hunts, a parade and more, what’s not to love! But this year was extra special. Russell Bowers from CBC Radio set up his studio in our fair city for a live show of CBC Daybreak@Night, and I was delighted to be his on-stage guest. This gave me a chance to talk about the joys of writing and teaching in rural Alberta. You can listen to our interview here.
